Congrat’s Mr & Mrs Long

My computer is still acting up and I’m not going to be able to replace it just yet so please bare with me with the posting a lot then a little and not at all… I need to catch up so I will do my best….

Last week at this time we were well into a celebration of a lifetime. My brother-in-law, Adam, married his best friend and love a lifetime Trista. It was truly a beautiful day, even with the rain, I think it was a perfect day for them. I wanted to share some memories from the day.

The Groom (blindfolded), before the big reveal.

Allison and her husband, Brain, did an amazing job photographing the big day. Here’s them at work. I have never seen photographs like some she has taken, visit her website for more photos and info. You can also like her on facebook.

Adam did an amazing show with some of his boys for the guarder toss. I’m fairly sure the video will make it to u-tube if it hasn’t already.

I couldn’t be happier for these two and we have nothing but well wishes for their future together.

Celebrating New Family

This time next week we will be preparing to celebrate a new family being created. My brother-in-law is getting married to this pretty lady (Right). I couldn’t be happier for both of them.

Trista and I went to school together, so she’s no stranger. It’s been great watching her go from ‘new girlfriend’ to ‘bride.’ Well wishes to the Future Mr. & Mrs. Long.

Here are some more memories from her shower in August.

Fall Festival 2013

If you’ve known me for more than a few sentences you know that I’m in love with the Amish. I absolutely adore how they live so simply. So when we get the chance, we slip to Amish Country for the day. With fall quickly approaching the beauty of the drive took me in.

With my husband working 90 hours this week, he was no good for driving anymore, so I took the wheel and we took the scenic route. I don’t like the same old hum-drum. I just had to get this picture of the land, perfect clouds and of course the Amish Buggy.

I probably shouldn’t announce that I was driving and taking pictures, but this is mannersandmars, so your going to have to deal with some (mars) out of the ordinary every now and again.

Speaking of unusual. How many people do you know have a pottery wheel? Me, None !

But when I was in high school, I REALLY Wanted one. I’m not sure which excuse was given when I finally gave up asking for one.

The Smicksburg Pottery had some very unique pieces and I encourage you to visit them someday.

Keeping with lost dreams. I had to laugh when I saw this at the furniture store, because I had always pictured my kitchen with a huge pantry and huge table with country style decorations, Amish even (lol). I guess I let the dream go with I feel in love with the ‘John’ that I did, and then there is reality of our life that we have made. Which I wouldn’t change for anything.

Our Emmett absolutely loves popcorn, his favorite, kettle corn. He was amazed that they were making it right in front of his eyes.

There was fall cookie decorating for the kiddos. For only $1.00 I figured that I could help and we would get a pretty cookie for E. DSCN6008

^ The finished product.

Happy Fall Everyone !!

I wanted to apologize. I haven’t been blogging as much as I would like, due to computer issues and I’m incredibly behind on my blog goals.

Emmett and I have been catching out outside time when we can because before you know it the snow will be flying.

20131012-123540.jpgWe went to our local park this morning and someone’s getting brave with the slide. 🙂

20131012-123704.jpgAnd we were both so proud when he figured out how to conquer getting up on this all by himself.

I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful month so far.

Stay tuned for some more blogs that I’ve been working on and unable to publish just yet. 🙂

I find myself celebrating life today. Not only was today Friday, it also marked 23 months since our Emmett was brought into this world. Even when he was stubborn and wanted to change his mind in the middle of a unstoppable process, we still loved him greatly.

It has truly been the fastest 23 months of my life. And I’m totally not ready to be the proud Mother of a Two-Year-Old.

A Beautiful Fall Day

Today was such a perfect weather day. Emmett and I enjoyed some time at the local park with some friends. Check out our fun. DSCN5960

Emmett wasn’t too keen on going down the slide himself, but sure had fun. And even though he was exhausted, still thinks he doesn’t need to nap.

Oh my, what it’s like to be (almost) two!
