Easy as 1-2-3

As the garden is starting to produce a harvest, of course there is an abundance of zucchini.

This means that I am on the frantic search for tasty and easy recipes. I hate cooking in the summer. It’s just too hot.
I love my iPhone spark people app. It’s jammed packed with healthy, great tasting recipes. Today’s lunch was Fried Zucchini Patties and they were yummy.

All the ingredients were things we keep in the house but I wasn’t in the mood for garlic so I opted for onion instead.

Definitely a keeper as far as recipes go.

My Baby’s 20 Months !!!

As another July 4th has arrived, I am reminded how time flies. It seems like yesterday I was pregnant experiencing rapid kicking through the fireworks. I have blinked and two years has past. It is hard to even consider having a two year old, but in 4 months we will be celebrating a big boy’s birthday !!

I love Christmas !!

And summers right behind it.

I’m really enjoying being Mommy to our little Emmett. I can’t believe he’s already a toddler 🙂

Filing My Life Away

Organizing in my life has become quite a little hobby. Today I was able to wrap up the filing cabinet project that I started about a week and a half ago just working at it here and there. I really should of logged my hours, it would of been interesting to know how long it really did take.

My top drawer was just hanging files in no particular order with paper just shoved in randomly. This is what you get when you only file once a year.

^ the bottom drawer was “junk” thrown in with some household manuals stacked in the back.

^ as you can see there’s a huge difference. The top drawer is monthly or important documents and in alphabetical order, to speed up filing. The goal here is to file at the end if every month.

And the bottom drawer is important yearly or one time files, manuals in folders with classification, and detailed pocket dividers for some other important items.

What’s next ?

Pictures Everywhere

Continuing with the organizing theme, I’ve moved on to the jumbled boxes of pictures from the 1980’s to the straight from the printers enveloped pictures of current day.

I looked hard on Pinterest for ideas but ended up just utilizing totes and cards I had in my attic.

With everything organized I’m ready to scrapbook each year and event as I have time. 🙂

How are your pictures organized ??

Celebrating The Coming Bounty

Growing up my parents always had a garden, of course, as their oldest child I was helper. I didn’t exactly love weeding or picking the harvest, especially beans.

Now I’m an adult and have a small child to feed and teach I am really starting to get into my garden.

When we bought our house in 2008 there was small patch on the side of our garage. I almost felt obligated to plant, being brought up with a garden.

Last summer I had my husband dig up some more land with a tractor he had borrowed. Needless to say we are going to have quite a bounty this year.

Today’s July 1st, I thought it appropriate to celebrate our successes from June 1st to today. It truly is amazing what can come from a few seeds in containers.

Spaghetti Squash Plants &
Petunia Flowers – No brainier, easy to keep if your interested in beautifying your outside word.

Bulb Flowers Started in the Greenhouse This Year. I was so happy to see a bloom. 🙂
And new also this year a little row of beans. I guess people do really change.

Over all I am ecstatic with the progress that the gardens has made and can’t wait to start stuffing cabbage and peppers, snapping beans and making homemade chili with the yummy spaghetti squash & tomatoes.

Scared to try seeds?? Just buy the plants straight from a quality greenhouse in your area or a local farmers market.
